The name of Alphabet "Y" is read as "Wai".
But when it comes at the start of a word, it makes a sound where you say a short "i" sound and connect it to the next sound.

How to Color Alphabet "Y"

Color the Big "Y" and "y" in Your Favorite Colors

Color inside the outlines of the big "Y" and "y" in the top right with your favorite colors.
If you match the colors to the stroke order numbers—like ① in red, ② in blue, and ③ in green—you can easily see the order to write them.
It is the "Y" for Yellow, so coloring them in yellow is a great idea, too!

Color the Yo-yo with Bright Colors

Color the yo-yo with bright, stand-out colors like red, blue, or yellow.
If you use the same color for the front disk and back disk, and make the middle gap a bit darker, it will look 3D!
It is also fun to add patterns like spirals or stars in the middle of the disk.
You can leave the string white, or color it light yellow.

Let's Color the Small Pictures, Too

For the yacht, try coloring the sail white or red, the boat blue, and the waves light blue.
For the yogurt, color the cup in your favorite color, and the yogurt inside white or strawberry pink.
For the yak, it is good to color it dark brown or black, and color the horns light yellow.

Trace Slowly with a Pencil

In the bottom right, there are 4 light gray "Y"s in the top row and 4 "y"s in the bottom row.
Hold your pencil correctly and trace them slowly in the right stroke order.
The trick for the lowercase "y" is to stretch its tail all the way down near the 4th line.

To Finish Up, Read the Word Out Loud

When you finish coloring, trace the Yo-yo letters under the picture on the left with your finger, and say "Yo-yo" out loud.
Connecting the picture, letters, and sound makes Alphabet "Y" much easier to remember!
When your coloring page is done, it is nice to tape it to a wall or put it in a folder to keep it.
