About Excavator
What kind of vehicle is an Excavator?
An Excavator is a cool vehicle that does great work at construction sites, with a big arm and bucket (shovel) attached! It can do lots of jobs, like digging up dirt, carrying things, and lifting stuff up.
What shape is it?
There are Excavators with tracks (feet like a tank) and ones with tires. Excavators with tracks can move with great power, even on bumpy ground.
What kind of work does it do?
- Digs deep into the dirt (it is also used to dig tunnels!)
- Moves big rocks and trees
- Loads dirt and sand onto trucks
- Knocks down buildings (and clears away the rubble)
The Excavator's secret!
The driver's seat on an Excavator spins round and round! That makes it super easy to change the direction the arm moves.
How to Color Excavator
What color will you make the body?
Most Excavators have a yellow or orange body, but there are green and blue Excavators too. Choose your favorite color!
What color for the arm and bucket?
You can paint the arm and bucket the same color as the body, or make them different to look cool. For example, if the body is yellow, making the arm black or gray gives it a neat machine look!
What color for the windows?
If you paint the driver's cab windows light blue or light gray, they will look like real glass. If you want to make them shine, try drawing a few light lines with a white crayon!
What color for the tires and tracks?
If you paint the tires and tracks black or dark gray, your Excavator will look strong. Mixing in a little brown makes it look like it just drove over dirt!
Try drawing the ground and background too!
Draw a construction site where your Excavator works. If you draw dirt, stones, trees, and even dump trucks with it, your picture will look super cool!
