Great White Shark Coloring Pages

King of the Ocean! Great White Shark!

The Great White Shark is a sea creature with a big body and sharp teeth. The Japanese name "HOHOJIRO" comes from its white cheeks. In English, it is called "Great white shark," which means "huge white shark."

Where does it live?

Great White Sharks live in many places all over the world, from warm seas to cooler ones. In Japan, you can find them from Hokkaido all the way to Okinawa. They swim across the vast ocean, traveling around to hunt for food!

How big is it?

The Great White Shark gets super big! Usually, they are about 4 to 5 meters long, but some have been found that are over 6 meters long. That is bigger than a bus, and they can weigh over 2 tons!

The secret of its sharp teeth

The teeth of a Great White Shark are jagged, just like the teeth of a saw! With these teeth, it can grab its prey tight and crunch it down. Plus, even if a tooth falls out, a new one grows right back! That is why its teeth are always super sharp.

What does it eat?

The Great White Shark is the strongest hunter at the top of the ocean food chain! It mainly eats marine mammals like seals, sea lions, and dolphins. It also eats seabirds, fish, and sometimes dead whales. When it hunts, it zooms up from below its prey at amazing speeds to attack!

Is it really fierce?

Because of movies, people often think the Great White Shark is a scary shark that attacks humans. But actually, it rarely attacks humans to eat them. Scientists think it bites humans by mistaking them for its usual prey. To a Great White Shark, a human might taste different from the seals it usually eats. So, even in seas where Great White Sharks live, you are safe as long as you do not get close for no reason. If you ever see a calm Great White Shark, stay quiet and move away gently.

How to Choose Colors

Here are some color tips to make your Great White Shark coloring page look cool!

• Back of the body: Dark gray or bluish-gray is best. These colors make it feel like the deep sea.
• Belly area: Color it white, just like its name says! If you blend the line where the back and belly meet, it will look even more real.
• Eyes: Color the edge around the eyes dark, and fill the inside with solid black. This makes its eyes look sharp!
• Mouth and teeth: Color the inside of the mouth pink or red to make it look full of life. Color the sharp teeth carefully with white to show off their jagged shape.

Make It Look Like It Is Swimming Fast!

Great White Shark coloring pages often show them swimming powerfully through the water. Try a few trick when you color!

• Water colors: Color the water around it light blue or sky blue. Leave the bubbles white to make it look like it is speeding along!
• Light and shadows: Add darker shadows to spots that do not get much light, like curved body parts or the base of the fins. This makes your picture look 3D!
• If you use colored pencils: Try making a nice gradient (where the color changes bit by bit) from the back to the belly. This makes the body look smooth!

Try Coloring the Background!

Great White Sharks swim in the huge ocean. Your picture will be even more fun if you color the background!

• In the ocean: Use dark blue and sky blue to show how deep the water is. You can also add rocks or seaweed at the ocean floor using green and brown.
• Prey animals: If there are fish in the picture, color them in different colors from the Great White Shark so everyone can tell what it is hunting.

Your Very Own Great White Shark!

Great White Sharks usually have gray backs and white bellies, but you can use any colors you like! A colorful Great White Shark or a striped Great White Shark will look super cool, too!
