A Bird with a Long Tail!

They are about 13.5 cm long, and almost half of that is their tail. It is said that they got their Japanese name because their tails are so long. Where Do They Live?

In Japan, this kind of Long-tailed tit lives only in Hokkaido. In the winter, they stay in a white world full of snow, so it is a little hard to find them. If you spot one, you are very lucky!

What Does the Long-tailed tit Eat?

They eat tiny bugs and tree buds. In the winter, they sometimes lick tree sap, too. They hop quickly around the trees looking for yummy things to eat.
