A relative of "lizards," not dinosaurs

Mosasaurus lived at the same time as Tyrannosaurus Rex, but it was actually not a dinosaur. It was a creature closer to "lizards" and "snakes" that returned to the sea a very long time ago. Today's Komodo dragons are said to be its distant relatives.
