About Boeing 767

A Super Popular Plane Flying Across the Sky! Boeing 767

The Boeing 767 is an airplane (jet engine plane) made by an American company called Boeing. It was packed with the newest technology of its time so you could travel safely in the sky using computers. It has been super active in the Japanese sky for a long time. Today, instead of carrying passengers, it is used more often as a "cargo plane" to carry packages. But it is still a famous plane that makes everyone happy when you spot it at the airport!

History and Types of Boeing 767

The Boeing 767 flew in the sky for the very first time in 1981. Before that, big airplanes needed 3 or 4 engines to fly safely across long distances like the ocean. But the Boeing 767 made its engines so good that it started a new era where a plane could fly far away safely with just two engines and less fuel. It is an amazing plane that comes in many types, not just for carrying passengers.

  • 767-200: This is the very first type that was made. The history of the Boeing 767 started right here.
  • 767-300: This type made the body (the main part of the airplane) longer than the 200 model so it could carry even more people. This is the one you see most often in Japan.
  • 767-400ER: This type has an even longer body. Because it can carry so many people, the body gets heavier, so it flies a little shorter distance than the 300 model.
  • Cargo Plane (Freighter): There are also special Boeing 767 planes made just for carrying packages around the world instead of passengers. Some have no windows right from the start, and others have their windows covered up after being changed from passenger planes.

Cool Features and Amazing Things

The Boeing 767 has many secrets for flying safely and comfortably.

  • Two Aisle Paths: Inside the plane, there are 2 aisles for people to walk through. This is called a "wide-body," and it makes it super easy for lots of people to get on and off. The seats are arranged nicely in a "2-3-2" setup, so very few seats get squeezed between two people. That makes it super comfortable for passengers!
  • High-Tech Cockpit: Big airplanes used to need 3 pilots to fly, but the Boeing 767 used a "glass cockpit" lined with many computer screens. This changed history because now just "2 people," the captain and co-pilot, can fly the plane safely.
  • Lots of Japanese Technology Too: Actually, about 15 percent of the Boeing 767's body and parts were made by Japanese companies! The big success and trust built with the Boeing 767 was an important first step. It led to Japan making even more parts for later planes, like the Boeing 777 (about 21%) and the 787 (about 35%).

How to Color Boeing 767

How to Choose Colors

When you color the Boeing 767 coloring page, make it look like a real airplane, or use your favorite airline's colors!

  • Body Color: Real airplanes are often white. You do not have to color it white. You can just use the white color of the paper!
  • Wings and Engines: Color the main wings and engines silver or light gray. That makes it look like a real metal airplane!
  • Airline Mark: On the tail, there is a mark for the airline that flies the plane. If it is a Japanese airline, it looks cool to color it with red or blue!
  • Windows: Color the small passenger windows light blue or black to make them look like real glass!

Let's Show the Round Shape!

An airplane's body is shaped like a big tube. Try coloring it to look 3D!

  • Shadows and Light: Lightly color a soft shadow on the belly (the bottom part) using gray or light blue. Leave the top white where the light hits it. This makes the plane look round!
  • Round Engines: Engines are round, too! Color the bottom part a little darker to make it look cool.

Try Creative Backgrounds

Try coloring or drawing a background! Where is your Boeing 767 flying? Is it a blue sky with white clouds, a sunset sky, or a starry night sky? You can also draw it waiting at the airport to take off! Imagine different scenes and color freely!

Hints for Enjoying the Coloring Page!

You do not have to use the same colors as a real plane! Make your own "Dream Airline"! It will look wonderful if you make a rainbow, starry, or colorful Boeing 767. Have fun coloring freely!

Fun Facts About Boeing 767

The Secret of Having Only 2 Pilots

In the past, big airplanes were flown by a team of 3 people. Along with the pilots (the captain and the co-pilot), there was a "flight engineer" who checked things like the engine in detail. But Boeing 767 uses a lot of computer power to check machines automatically. That is why it can fly safely with just 2 people!

A "Wide-Body" Airplane with 2 Aisles

Boeing 767 has 2 aisles for people to walk through inside the plane. Compared to airplanes with only 1 aisle, lots of people can easily get to their seats or go to the bathroom. It is a great design that lets passengers relax and feel comfortable!

Packed with Japanese Technology

Boeing is an American company, but parts of Boeing 767's body and doors are actually made by Japanese companies and sent to America. About 15 percent of the whole airplane is made in Japan. So, you could say that Boeing 767 is a plane with very close ties to Japan, too!
