The Hiragana "Ke" came from the kanji "計" , which is used when you count or make plans! When you add two small dots (dakuten) to "Ke", it becomes Hiragana "Ge". The left side and right side of the kanji "計" were written quickly and joined together to make the shape of "Ke" and Hiragana "Ge" we use today!
