About Giant panda

What They Look Like

When you think of a Giant panda, you think of black and white fur, right? The black patches around their eyes, ears, shoulders, and legs are super cute! They are in the bear family, but they have round heads and short tails. Grown-up Giant pandas are much taller than you are. They can weigh as much as an adult person, or even more!

Where Do They Live?

Giant pandas live deep in the mountains of China, in forests with lots of bamboo. They like cool, damp places high up in the mountains. You can see them at zoos in Japan, but their real home is China.

What Do They Eat?

Giant pandas eat bamboo almost every day! They love bamboo leaves and bamboo shoots! But they do not just eat bamboo. Sometimes they eat apples, carrots, and special Giant panda snacks at the zoo. A long time ago, they used to eat meat too. But now, they have become experts at eating bamboo. Bamboo does not have many nutrients. So, Giant pandas spend about half of the day just eating bamboo!

How Do They Live?

Giant pandas live mostly by themselves. They do not often live with their families or friends. They like quiet places. They have a gentle nature and rarely fight with other animals.
They are great at climbing trees! They use tree branches to stay safe from danger and to take cozy naps. But they are not very good at getting down, so they fall sometimes! Even in cold winters, they do not hibernate like other bears do.

How to Color Giant panda

Color the Black Parts Super Dark!

The Giant panda's eye patches, ears, shoulders, arms, and legs are cool and black! Try pressing down nice and hard with your crayon or colored pencil, and stay inside the lines. That will make it super dark and shiny! If you color in the same direction, it will look even better.

The White Parts Can Stay White!

The Giant panda's big body and face are white. You can color them with a white crayon or colored pencil. Leaving the paper white without coloring is okay, too! If you have a white colored pencil, coloring softly can make it look soft and fluffy.

Color the Edges Carefully!

Color slowly between the black and white parts so you do not go outside the lines! This makes your Giant panda look super cool. Be careful not to go past the black parts!

Try Drawing a Background!

Giant pandas live in bamboo forests! If you add green bamboo and leaves around your Giant panda, it will look even cooler. You can also draw a blue sky and clouds to show it outdoors in nature!
