The "Z" in "Zebra"

Alphabet "Z" is the very last letter, the 26th letter of the 26 alphabet letters.
The word for this coloring page is Zebra. It means a zebra with black and white stripes.
On the left side, we drew a smiling baby zebra.
It has stripes all the way from its head to the tips of its feet.
Its mane is short and stands straight up.
Its big eyes and chubby snout are so cute.
In the back, it has a tail with a bushy tip.
Below the picture, "Zebra" is written in outlined English letters, and "ゼブラ" is written in Katakana underneath it.

How to write uppercase "Z" and lowercase "z"

You can write both uppercase and lowercase Alphabet "Z" in just 1 stroke.
For uppercase "Z", start on the 1st line and draw a horizontal line from left to right.
Without stopping, go diagonally down to the left to the 3rd line. Finally, draw another horizontal line from left to right.
Lowercase "z" has the same shape as the uppercase letter. Just write it smaller, between the 2nd line and the 3rd line.
If you make the top horizontal line and the bottom horizontal line about the same length, it will look really nice.
Try tracing it with your finger while looking at the number ① and the arrows on the coloring page.

The sound of Alphabet "Z"

As an alphabet name, Alphabet "Z" is read as "zee" in America, and "zed" in Britain.
Inside words, it makes a "zzz" sound. Put your teeth close together and vibrate your throat to make it.

Zebra, Zoo, Zero, and Zipper all start with this sound.
Learning the sounds inside words like this is called Phonics.

How to Color Alphabet "Z"

Color the big "Z" and "z" with your favorite colors

Color inside the outlines of the big "Z" and "z" at the top right with your favorite colors.
It might also be fun to make them black-and-white stripes to match the zebra!
If you use different colors for the top line, the diagonal line, and the bottom line, it is easy to see how the stroke changes direction.

Color the zebra stripe by stripe

Color the stripes on the zebra black and white, taking turns for each line.
To avoid mistakes, trace with your finger first to see which stripes should be black.
You can also use pink or light blue instead of black to make a dream zebra!
If you draw green grass around it, it will look just like the savanna where zebras live.

Let's color the small pictures too

For the zoo gate, try coloring the top arch red and the pillars brown.
Color the zero "0" with your favorite color.
If you color the zipper silver or gray, it will look like real metal!

Trace slowly with a pencil

At the bottom right, you will find 4 light gray "Z"s in the top row and 4 "z"s in the bottom row.
Hold your pencil correctly and trace each one in a single stroke without stopping at the corners.
The trick is to place the bottom horizontal line right on the 3rd line of the 4 guide lines.

Finally, let's read the word

When you finish coloring, trace the letters of Zebra under the picture on the left with your finger, and say "zebra" out loud.
Connecting the picture, the letters, and the sound helps you learn Alphabet "Z" much faster!
When your coloring page is done, it is nice to hang it on the wall or keep it in a folder.
