About Tiger

Strong Body and Beautiful Stripes! Tiger!

Tiger is called the "King of Beasts," and it is a very strong and cool animal. A big feature of the male is its fluffy hair called a mane. They are known for living in packs and hunting together with their friends. Its big body and powerful roar are super exciting just to see and hear.

Where Does It Live?

Tiger lives across wide areas of Asia. They live in forests, grasslands, and jungles in places like India, Russia, and Southeast Asia. The body size and fur color are a little different depending on where they live. They have their own territory. To keep other Tigers away, they leave claw marks on trees or spray urine to let others know the spot is theirs.

The Secret of the Stripes

Every single Tiger has a completely different stripe pattern, just like human fingerprints! These stripes play an important role in hiding among the tall grass so prey cannot see them. When Tiger hides between trees and grass, the stripes help its body blend right into the background, making it super hard to find.

How It Hunts

Tiger is a very strong animal. It can hunt animals bigger than itself all by itself! It often gets active at night, quietly sneaking up on prey without making a sound with its feet. Then, it pounces all at once to catch its prey. Sometimes, it even catches and eats things like fish and crabs!

Differences Between Males and Females

Unlike lions, male and female Tigers look almost the same. Males are just a little bigger and heavier than females.

Lifespan and Body Size

A Tiger's lifespan in the wild is about 10 to 15 years. In zoos, some Tigers can live even longer. A male Tiger can weigh over 200 kilograms!

How to Color Tiger

How to Choose Colors: Show Off the Strong Stripes!

When you color Tiger, the trick is to show off its strong, beautiful stripes and its powerful body! Use yellow, orange, and black. Try adding shiny bright spots and cool shadows to make Tiger look even more real!

  • Body Colors:
    • Use orange or yellow for the main body color. Make the bottom part of the body and the tummy white.
    • Color the stripes with black. Trace the lines carefully! Change the thickness and shapes of the stripes to make Tiger look super realistic.
    • Leave a little bit of white or pale yellow on the back and the tops of the legs where the light hits.
    • Add a layer of dark orange or dark brown under the tummy and inside the legs for shadows. This makes the body look nice and round!
  • Eye Colors:
    • Tiger has sharp, cool eyes! Color them a bit large with yellow or gold. Add a small white dot so the eyes look bright and full of life!
  • Background Colors:
    • Tiger lives in forests and jungles. You can show big, wild nature by combining green, brown, and yellow!
    • Tiger hunts at night, so drawing a night sky looks really cool, too!

Tiger's body is strong and full of muscles. If you use light and dark colors and shadows well, your coloring page will look even more lively!

  • Where to Use Light and Dark Colors:

    • Color with short lines to make it look like real, fuzzy fur!
  • Where to Put Shadows:
    • Put shadows on the curved parts of the body, under the tummy, and inside the legs.
    • Use dark brown or black in these spots to make the body look nice and 3D!

Tips for Paints, Colored Pencils, and Crayons!

  • Colored Pencils:
    • Press hard for dark colors and press softly for light colors. This makes it easy to show shade changes!
    • Layer other colors (like black or brown) over orange to make rich, neat colors.
  • Crayons:
    • Crayons are great for making a fun, rough texture. You can also rub the colors with your finger to blend them!
