About Roadster
The Mazda Roadster, a sports car built to feel the wind!
The Roadster is a two-seater sports car with a roof that opens up. It was made for people who love driving cars. You can drive smoothly while feeling the wind, just like you are flying through the sky! Ever since it was first made in 1989, it has been loved all over the world.
What is the secret to why everyone loves it?
There are a few secrets to why the Roadster is loved by so many people. First, it is light and low to the ground! This makes driving super fun, as if the car moves just like your own hands and legs. Also, the engine power is just right. So, besides driving fast, you can turn and stop just the way you want to. And because it is a convertible car, if you drive with the roof open, you can feel lots of sunlight and wind, and fully enjoy the view!
Roadster History: NA, NB, NC, and ND
The Roadster has four generations so far. Each generation has a name with letters: "NA," "NB," "NC," and "ND." These tell you which era the Roadster is from.
- NA Generation (1st Gen): This is the very first Roadster, made from 1989 to 1998. Its biggest feature is the "pop-up headlights" that open up like eyes! They looked so cute, almost like it was alive, so it is still super popular today. It was light and really fun to drive.
- NB Generation (2nd Gen): This Roadster was made from 1998 to 2005. It looks a lot like the NA, but the headlights changed to a fixed type so air could flow more smoothly. It looked even cooler, and the engine got a little more power, too.
- NC Generation (3rd Gen): This Roadster was made from 2005 to 2015. This Roadster had a slightly bigger body than before, and the engine became even more powerful. Because it grew bigger, it could drive fast with more stability.
- ND Generation (4th Gen): This is the newest Roadster, made from 2015 up to today. This Roadster went back to a light and small body. Its design has sparkling eyes, giving it a ready-to-go face just like an animal hunting its prey! It has lots of new technology, making it even safer and more fun to drive.
How to Color Roadster
How to Choose Colors
Roadster looks light and sporty, so bright and vivid colors suit it really well. Try coloring it freely with your favorite colors!
- Body: It depends on which Roadster it is, but popular body colors are red (Soul Red Crystal Metallic or Classic Red), gray (Machine Gray Premium Metallic), and white (Snowflake White Pearl Mica). Other colors like yellow, blue, white, and silver look great on Roadster too! Make your very own special Roadster using the colors you like best.
- Seats: If you pick a color that is different from the body, it will look super cool. Black and red are used a lot!
- Tires and Wheels: Color the tires black and the wheels silver or black to make it look just like a real car.
Think About Light and Shadows!
Cars have shiny parts where the light hits them, and darker parts that are in the shadow. If you think about this while you color, your picture will look much more 3D!
- For flat parts like the hood or doors, make the middle a bit lighter and the edges a bit darker. That will make them look nicely rounded!
- For the windows, leave some white parts to show light bouncing off them, or try coloring them with light blue or light gray.
Be Careful with Small Details!
If you color the headlights and taillights with bright yellow and red, they will look like they are glowing. Try to color the Roadster emblem (logo) carefully too!
Color the Background Too!
Where is your Roadster driving? It is fun to add a background if there isn't one, like a mountain road, a road by the sea, or inside a city. Draw whatever fun drive you can imagine!
