About BRZ
Cool and Easy to Drive! The Subaru BRZ!
The Subaru BRZ is a sleek, low sports car that is super fun to drive. It is a special car built to let you "enjoy driving." It turns smoothly, making you feel like you can control it as easily as your own hands and feet.
It is Like a "Brother" to the Toyota 86!
The BRZ has a twin brother car that looks just like it, called the "Toyota GR86" (it used to be called the Toyota 86). Two companies, Subaru and Toyota, joined forces and made it together, thinking, "Let's build a sports car that everyone can enjoy!" So while the shape and basic setup are almost identical, the ride and steering feel a little different. Each company, Subaru and Toyota, gave the car its own special touch.
It Has a Very Special Engine!
The awesome thing about the BRZ is that it carries a special engine called a "boxer engine." In regular cars, parts called pistons move up and down. But in a boxer engine, the pistons move left and right side-to-side, just like two boxers punching each other. Because of this, the engine is flatter, which keeps the whole car lower to the ground. A low center of gravity keeps the car steady when turning corners, making it super easy to drive.
- DBA-ZC6: FA20
- 3BA-ZD8: FA24 (The engine size grew by 400cc compared to the FA20!)
A Low and Cool Look!
Just like a real sports car, the BRZ has a cool style called "long nose, short deck," which means it sits low with a long front. Its grounded design looks cool, but it also cuts through the air to help the car go fast and stay steady. When you sit in the driver's seat, you are close to the ground, so it feels like you are gliding across the road.
The History of the BRZ
The first Subaru BRZ, the DBA-ZC6, came out in 2012. Back then, there were not many sports cars that young people could buy, so the BRZ and Toyota 86 made big news. Then in 2021, the second-generation BRZ, the 3BA-ZD8, arrived. With a more powerful engine and a fresh new look, it leveled up to become an even more exciting car to drive.
How to Color BRZ
How to Choose Colors
The Subaru BRZ is a super fast-looking sports car, so bold and bright colors look great on it. It is also fun to pick Subaru's famous color!
- Body Color: Speaking of Subaru sports cars, a pretty blue called "WR Blue Mica" is very famous. Other cool choices are burning red, cool black, bright white, or shiny silver.
- Wheels: If you paint the wheels silver or black, the tires will look sharp and neat.
- Headlights and Taillights: Make the headlights glow with white or light yellow. For the taillights, use red as a base. Paint the glowing brake lights a little darker to make them look real.
- Windows: Paint the windows light blue or gray to look like real glass. If you paint the inside of the car a bit darker, it will look like it has depth.
Show the Speed!
Keep the low body and smooth curves of the BRZ in mind when you color. It will look like it is zooming fast!
- With Colored Pencils: Draw your lines slightly tilted along the body lines. This makes it look like it is moving fast. Leave some dark parts and light parts to show the shiny body.
- With Crayons: Turn your crayon sideways and color big areas all at once to make it look smooth. You can also mix different colors to make your very own car color!
How to Make It Look 3D: Think About "Lights" and "Shadows"!
Cars are smooth and shiny. If you think about where the light hits, your car will look super 3D!
- Bright Parts: Think about where the light hits best, like the bumps on the hood, the middle of the doors, or the top of the roof. Leave these parts white or color them lighter than the rest.
- Shadow Parts: Places like above the tires, under the bumpers, and at the bottom of the doors get shadows. Color them with a darker color (a darker shade of the same color, or mixed with a little black or gray) to make your car pop out!
Try Drawing a Background!
- Race Track: Imagine the BRZ in a race and draw a track behind it. Color the road gray and the grass next to it green to feel the racing fun!
- In the City: A BRZ driving through the city at night is super cool too. Color the background dark, and add yellow or orange for building lights and street lamps to make a night drive scene.
- Mountain Road: A drive through pretty mountain roads is awesome, too. Draw green trees and a blue sky in the background.
Tips for Enjoying Your Coloring Page!
You do not have to use real car colors! Color it any way you like and think, "A BRZ like this would be so cool!" A rainbow BRZ or a patterned BRZ would look wonderful, too!
