  • The First GT-R (Hakosuka, Kenmeri)
The GT-R name was used for the very first time over 50 years ago. It was called by the nickname "Hakosuka" because it looked like a box. Later, the cool-looking "Kenmeri" was born. The GT-R from this era did great in races, but sadly it took a break for a little while.
  • Return of the Legend! The 2nd Generation GT-R (R32, R33, R34)
After a long 16-year break, the Skyline GT-R / GT-R came back with the "R32" model! This R32 showed unbeatable strength in races, and people all over the world started calling it "Godzilla." After that, the slightly bigger "R33" and the even cooler "R34" were born. Many people still love these three models today as the "2nd Generation GT-R."

Skyline and GT-R became separate cars!

At first, the Skyline GT-R / GT-R was a special "GT-R" grade inside the car called "Skyline." But to make an even faster and more amazing car, it was reborn as a different car from the Skyline.

  • Birth of the new GT-R (R35)
In 2007, it appeared as a completely new car with the new name "Nissan GT-R." This car became a special GT-R car that no longer had the Skyline name.
  • Why did they split?
The Skyline kept evolving into a comfy car that is easy to drive every day. Meanwhile, the GT-R was specially designed to go after speed as "the fastest car in the world." That is why the two cars went down their own separate paths!
