About GR Yaris
Made to Win Rallies Around the World! GR Yaris
The GR Yaris is a special sports car developed by Toyota to win tough races in the "World Rally Championship (WRC)." It looks and performs completely differently from the regular Yaris. Professional racers drove and polished it to make it a true "machine built for driving." It was born from the strong passion of Toyota's chairman, Akio Toyoda (also known as "Morizo"), to "make ever-better cars starting from motorsport."
The History and Evolution of the GR Yaris
The GR Yaris first came out in 2020. After lots of test drives on roads all over the world, an even stronger version arrived in 2024. It keeps getting better with a more powerful engine and a new automatic transmission option.
- 2020 (Birth): The GR Yaris made a grand debut as a 4WD sports car that Toyota built from scratch all on its own!
- 2024 (Evolved Model): Engine power went up, and the design changed to cool down much better. The driver's seat was redesigned using tips from pros to make it even easier to drive!
Amazing performance and features
The GR Yaris has a lot of amazing tech packed into its small body!
- GR-FOUR (Special 4WD): It has a special system called "GR-FOUR" that sends power to all four tires. It can change the balance of power between the front and back tires to fit the road.
- World-Class 3-Cylinder Engine: Its 1.6-liter turbo engine is compact with only 3 cylinders, but it can put out world-class power. The engine type is "G16E-GTS". For a 1.6L 3-cylinder engine, it boasts one of the highest power outputs in the world for a mass-produced car.
- Light and Strong Body: It uses a light and strong material called "carbon" for the roof, and aluminum for the doors to make the car lighter.
- Special 3-Door Design: The regular Yaris has 5 doors, but GR Yaris has a special "3-door" design to help air flow better.
A "pull-style" brake made for rally racing
Many cars today have push-button parking brakes, but GR Yaris uses a "handbrake lever" on purpose. That is because in rally racing, drivers need to pull the lever to help them make sharp turns.
How to Color GR Yaris
Tips for coloring the GR Yaris to make it look cool
When you color the GR Yaris coloring page, try to give it a cool motorsport look!
- Popular colors: Famous colors for the GR Yaris are pure white "Super White II", bright "Emotional Red II", and cool "Precious Black Pearl". The 2024 model also has a gunmetal-like color called "Precious Metal".
- Carbon roof: The roof is made of carbon material, so color it dark gray or black! If you draw a grid pattern on it, it will look just like the real thing.
- GR emblem: Color the "GR" logos on the front and back using red and black. This is the mark of Toyota's sports car brand!
- Brake calipers: If you color the brakes inside the tires red, it will instantly look like a high-performance sports car!
Show it zooming along!
The GR Yaris has rally car roots, so it is great at driving on dirt and snowy roads too.
- Dust clouds and mud splashes: Draw dust clouds in the background or add a little brown to the car body for "mud spots"! It will look like a powerful car fighting in a rally race.
- Look fast: Add extra lines around the tires or color the background with side-to-side strokes! That makes it look like it is driving super fast.
Create your very own design
It is also fun to draw lots of stickers and stripes to make an "original rally car", just like a real race car! Combine your favorite colors to create a one-of-a-kind GR Yaris!
Fun Facts About GR Yaris
Changed by Pro Advice! The Tilted Cockpit
If you look closely at the driver's seat of the new GR Yaris (2024 model), the center panel is tilted 15 degrees toward the driver. This clever idea makes it easy to reach the switches, even when wearing a racing suit and buckled up tight.
A "Carbon" Roof to Cut Down Weight
To lower the car's center of gravity, a super light and strong material called "carbon" is used for the roof. This keeps the car from swaying side to side when turning corners, helping it run fast and stay steady.
Morizo's Special Touch
Morizo (Akio Toyoda), the chairman of Toyota, took the wheel and helped develop this car himself. They broke it and fixed it over and over again to build a tough car that won't break on any road.
