How Did It Start?
Ferrari was started in 1947 by a man named "Enzo Ferrari." Enzo was originally a famous racing driver. That is why Ferrari cars are made to win races—they are super fast and strong! The very first car they made was a racing car called the "125 S."
What Makes Them Special?
- Beautiful Design: You can tell a Ferrari right away! They have sleek, low, and cool designs. They are shaped to slice through the air so they can go really fast.
- Powerful Engines: The engine is like the heart of a Ferrari, and it has as much power as a whole herd of horses! Thanks to that, it can drive at amazing speeds.
- The Prancing Horse Emblem: The symbol of Ferrari is a black prancing horse called "Cavallino Rampante." This mark was painted on the plane of Francesco Baracca, an Italian hero from World War I. It stands for strength and good luck!

How to Color Ferrari
How to Choose Colors
When you think of Ferrari, "red" is the famous color, right? This special red is called "Rosso Corsa," and it is the color used by Italian racing teams. But yellow, black, blue, and silver Ferrari cars are also super cool!
- Body Color: First, try coloring it in bright red! Of course, it is also great to use your favorite colors like yellow (Giallo Modena), black, or blue (Azzurro).
- Emblem: Color the black prancing horse emblem inside the yellow rectangle carefully. Adding this mark makes it look just like a real Ferrari!
- Tires and Wheels: Color the tires a strong black. Color the wheels silver, gold, or black to make the bottom look neat and cool!
- Lights and Windows: Color the headlights white or yellow, and color the taillights red. If you color the windows light blue or light gray, they will look just like real glass!
Make the Body Look Shiny!
The body of a Ferrari is polished super bright, and it is so shiny that you can see the view around it!
- When using colored pencils: Leave the top of the body or places where light hits a little bit white, or color them lightly. This makes it look like light is shining on it. Try using dark and light colors to make it look 3D!
- When using crayons: Press down a little harder and color smoothly to make it look shiny! It is also fun to add shine using a white crayon.
Try Working on the Small Details!
- Brake Calipers: You can see a little part called the brake caliper behind the wheels. If you color it red or yellow, it looks very stylish!
- Emblem: Do not forget to color the yellow shield-shaped emblems on the hood and sides. They are small, but doing your best to color them makes it look even cooler!
- Interior: Try coloring the seats and steering wheel that you can see through the window. Black, brown (tan), and red are popular colors!
Color the Background!
- Racetrack: Try coloring or drawing a racetrack where a Ferrari is racing! Color the road gray, and color the curbs on the side of the track red and white. This gives it a cool racing feel!
- City Streets: A Ferrari driving through stylish European streets or along a pretty coastline is also wonderful!
Your Very Own Ferrari!
You do not have to stick to real colors. Design a one-of-a-kind original Ferrari with your favorite colors and patterns! A rainbow Ferrari or a star-patterned Ferrari will look super cool too!
Fun Facts About Ferrari
How Fast is Ferrari?
Ferrari is a super fast car. It depends on the model, but the fastest ones can go over 340 kilometers per hour. That is even faster than Japan's Shinkansen bullet trains (like the Nozomi)! It is amazing that a car driving on the road can race against a bullet train, isn't it?
Does It Cost as Much as a House?!
Ferrari has a super price tag, too. When you buy a brand new one, even the cheapest model costs around 30 million yen, and the expensive ones can cost hundreds of millions of yen. That is enough money to buy a whole house! By the way, the average price of a normal car is said to be about 2.6 million yen. Ferrari is a truly high-class car.
