What Kind of Flower Is Sunflower?

Sunflower is a big, yellow flower that looks just like the sun! It grows very tall. The tallest ones can even grow bigger than a house! When summer comes, you can see lots of them in fields and parks.

Sunflower got its name because it turns to follow the sun. In the morning, it faces east. As the sun moves, it turns toward the west together with the sun! But once Sunflower grows big and adult, it usually stays facing east.

Sunflower's original home is a place called North America. Now, it is grown in many places all over the world. In Japan, you can see many of them blooming during the hot summer time!
