A Round and Yummy Fruit! Apple!
Apple is a fruit known for its round shape and cute colors like red, yellow, and green. People say, "An Apple a day keeps the doctor away," because it is packed with good things for your body. It has a nice crunchy feel and a sweet, tangy taste that is super delicious. You can eat it as it is, or use it to make juice, jam, cakes, and many other things!
Where Apple Came From
People say that the ancient family of Apple first grew around the Tian Shan mountains in a country called Kazakhstan. Wild Apple traveled all over the world along the Silk Road long, long ago. At first, it was not sweet like it is today. It was small and sour! Over many years, people grew better and sweeter ones, and it slowly became the yummy Apple we know today.
Where Does It Grow?
Apple grows in places with cool weather. In Japan, Aomori and Nagano are famous places where people grow lots of Apple. When it gets plenty of sunlight and cool breeze, it grows into a sweet and tasty Apple!
How Apple Grows
In spring, pretty white flowers bloom on the Apple tree. Bees and other insects visit the flowers to help them make seeds. Then, the flowers grow bigger and change into Apple fruits! At first, they are tiny green fruits. But from summer to autumn, they soak up the sun, grow bigger, and turn into a yummy color as they get ready to eat.

- Types of Apple colors:
- Red: When you think of Apple, you think of bright red! Use red as your main color.
- Yellow: If you color a yellow Apple (like Orin), use yellow as your main color.
- Mixed colors: If you color an Apple with red and yellow spots, mix a few colors together and blend the edges to make it look real.
- Smooth shine:

- You can also make it shiny by drawing a soft line with a white colored pencil right over the dark red!
- Shadow colors:
- The dented parts and the bottom of Apple become shadows.
- Layering a little bit of dark red or brown in these places makes it look 3D.
- Stem colors:
- Color the stem on top of Apple brown, and color the leaves green.
- Background colors:
- Apple grows in an orchard! Try combining green and light blue to show Apple growing in nature.
