The Super Popular Mini Car, N-BOX
N-BOX is a mini car made by Honda.
Mini cars are small cars unique to Japan that are made smaller than 3.4 meters long and 1.48 meters wide.
To make the inside of this small car as big as possible, N-BOX is shaped like a square box.
It is tall, with more than 1 meter of space to the ceiling. A small child can even stand up inside!
It is a huge bestseller and has been the number 1 selling mini car for many years.
1St, 2nd, and 3rd Generation
N-BOX has been remade into a new shape 3 times so far.
The 1st generation came out in 2011. It features a rounded box shape and a grille with horizontal stripes.
The 2nd generation came out in 2017. It was made lighter and packed with lots of safety features.
The 3rd generation came out in 2023. It got a flat hood and a clean face with a mesh-like grille.
Standard and Custom
N-BOX comes in two faces: the friendly Standard type and the cool Custom with a shiny chrome grille and sharp lights.
The Custom has a spoiler on the back of the roof and detailed wheel designs.
They are both N-BOX, but they look very different!

How to Color N-BOX
With Your Favorite Body Color
N-BOX comes in lots of body colors, like white, black, silver, red, blue, brown, pink, and yellow.
It is fun to color it the same as your family car, or an N-BOX you saw in your neighborhood.
If you make just the roof black or white, it becomes a cool two-tone color!
Windows and Lights
If you color the windows light blue or light gray and leave some parts white, they will look shiny like real glass.
For the lights, leave the inside white and color the edges silver or gray.
Make the Chrome Shiny
For the custom grille and the chrome door handles, color them silver or gray, and leave thin white lines to make them look nice and shiny.
If you use both silver and gray on the wheels, they will look just like the real thing!
Tires and Shadows
Color the tires dark gray or black.
If you make the bottom of the car and the parts around the tires a little darker, the car will look 3D.
You can also write your favorite numbers in the license plate box!
Change Colors for Each Generation and Compare
If you color the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd generations in the same color and line them up, you can easily see how the shapes are different.
On the other hand, if you color the standard one in a bright color and the Custom in a dark color, you can show off each car's special style.
You can also draw roads, houses, or a park in the background to make a fun trip scene!
Fun Facts About N-BOX
The Secret of "N"
The "N" in N-BOX comes from the "N360", a mini car released by Honda in 1967.
It stands for "New", "Next", and "Norimono" (the Japanese word for vehicle)!
Besides N-BOX, there are other cars with "N" in their names, like N-ONE and N-WGN.
The Gas Tank Is Under the Front Seats
In most cars, the gas tank is under the back seats.
In N-BOX, the tank is placed under the front seats.
Because of this, the back floor can be low and flat, making the inside super roomy!
Slide Doors
The back doors of N-BOX are slide doors that open by sliding to the side.
It is hard to bump the doors even in tight parking spaces, and it makes it easy for little kids to get in and out.
Yellow License Plates on Mini Cars
Mini cars usually have yellow license plates with black letters.
Regular cars have white plates with green letters.
If you look at the plate colors of cars in town, you can tell right away if a car is a mini car!
