The word is "myuujikku". That means music in English!

It looks like happy music is about to come out of the speaker!

Two Letters Make One Sound

You write Hiragana "Myu" by combining two letters: "Mi" and a small "Yu".
Even though you write two letters, you say them together as one sound instead of saying "mi" and "yu" separately.
A sound like this is called a contracted sound.
If you use a big "Yu" to write "miyu," it makes two sounds and turns into a completely different word.
A tiny letter can change the whole sound!

How Hiragana "Myu" Was Born

Long ago, people created Hiragana by simplifying Kanji characters.
"Mi" came from a simplified form of the Kanji 「美」.
The small "Yu" is just a tiny version of the regular "Yu," which came from simplifying the Kanji 「由」.
Ancient Kanji took a long time to turn into the friendly shapes we use today!
