About Christmas wreath
A Round Christmas Decoration
A Christmas wreath is a round, ring-shaped decoration made with leaves, berries, ribbons, and more.
You hang it on your front door, wall, or window to get ready for Christmas.
You might have seen one at a store or at someone's front door!
The Meaning Behind the Round Shape
A Christmas wreath is shaped like a circle because a circle has no beginning and no end.
People say it carries a special wish for happiness to go on forever.
The green leaves show strong life that does not wither, even in winter.
Things Used to Make a Christmas Wreath
Prickly holly leaves and fir tree branches are often used for a Christmas wreath.
People decorate them with red berries, pine cones, red poinsettia flowers, bells, and ribbons.
People used to believe that pointy holly leaves keep bad things away.
Making Your Own Christmas Wreath
You can make your very own Christmas wreath too!
Try making a one-of-a-kind Christmas wreath using pine cones, acorns, vines, or paper you find in the park.
When you finish, hang it on your front door or in your room!
How to Display Your Christmas Wreath
People often hang a Christmas wreath at eye level on their front door.
If you put it outside, make sure to attach it tightly so the rain and wind will not blow it away.
Inside your house, it looks great on a wall, window, or even on a table.
Have fun looking at your Christmas wreath every day until Christmas is over!

How to Color Christmas wreath
Use a few different greens for the leaves
Color the leaves of the Christmas wreath in green.
Use dark green for the holly and bright green for the fir leaves. If you change the shades of green for each kind of leaf, your Christmas wreath will look real!
It is also a great idea to make the veins on the leaves a little bit darker.
Use red to make it pop
Try coloring the berries, the ribbon, and the poinsettia flowers in red.
Red inside the green makes it look so much like Christmas!
If you leave a tiny white dot on the top corner of each berry, they will look nice and shiny.
Bells and pinecones
Color the bells in gold or yellow, and color the pinecones in brown and dark brown.
For the pinecones, make the edge of each scale a little darker to make them look 3D.
The front door on a snowy day
For the second coloring page, try coloring the door in brown or red, and the potted plant in green.
Color the lantern flame in orange, and leave the fallen snow white. It will look like a cozy front porch on a snowy day!
Try coloring the girl's hat and scarf in matching colors that you like best.
Take your time with the tricky Christmas wreath
For the detailed Christmas wreath on the third coloring page, it is easiest to color all the same things first, like all the leaves, then the flowers, then the berries.
If you color in this order: green, red, gold, and brown, it is hard to make a mistake!
At the end, color the ribbon in any color you like to finish it up.
Color the back side of the ribbon a little darker to make it look like it is fluttering in the wind.
