About Noah

A Toyota Minivan for the Whole Family

Noah is a minivan made by Toyota.
A minivan is a tall car with a big inside, so lots of people can ride in it.
Noah has three rows of seats and can fit 7 or 8 people.
The back doors are sliding doors that open to the side. That makes it easy to get in and out, even in tight parking spots.
The very first model came out in 2001, and now the 4th generation is being made.

Its Brother Car, the Voxy

Noah has a brother car named the Voxy.
These two cars are built the same way inside. The main difference is how their front faces look.
In the past, they were sold at different dealerships. Noah was sold at Corolla stores, and Voxy was sold at Netz stores.
During the 3rd generation, another brother car called the Esquire joined them, making it three brothers.
The Esquire stopped being made after just one generation, so the 4th generation went back to the two brothers, Noah and Voxy.

The Secret of the Name

"Noah" comes from an English person's name.
According to Toyota, they chose it because it sounds gentle, and it does not have a special meaning.
They say it has nothing to do with "Noah's Ark" from the old story.
Before Noah, there was a car called the "TownAce Noah." From the first generation on, it took on today's shorter name.

The 4 Generations of Noah

The 1st generation came out in 2001.
It changed to front-wheel drive and made the floor lower, which made the inside much bigger.
The 2nd generation came out in 2007, keeping all the best parts of the first one.
The 3rd generation came out in 2014. That was the first time a hybrid car was made, running on both gasoline and electric power.
The 4th generation came out in 2022, and the body got a little bigger.
It brought cool features like a step that pops out at your feet when the sliding door opens, and a back door you can stop at any angle you like.

4 Coloring Pages

There are 4 coloring pages: the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th generation Noah.
On the 1st page, check out the front grille with 3 side-by-side lines and the round fog lights.
On the 2nd page, the lights are bigger, and the area around the grille has a rounded shape.
On the 3rd page, you will see a big grille with many horizontal lines, and even the license plate is inside the grille.
On the 4th page, it has slim headlights and a two-story grille, giving it a cool, sharp face.
Pages 1 through 3 have rain visors above the windows. Try comparing the wheel patterns on all 4 cars, too!
There is also a coloring page for its brother car, the Voxy, so try to find the differences in their faces.
For Toyota's big minivan, we also have an Alphard coloring page.

How to Color Noah

Try to Copy the Real Colors

The models used for the example are white for the 1st and 2nd generations, and silver for the 3rd and 4th generations.
Noah also comes in many other colors like black.
It is fun to color your Noah using the colors of your family car or a Noah you saw in town!

How to Color the Large Car Body

Noah is tall and shaped like a box, so it has very wide sides.
For large areas, move your colored pencil in the same direction to color smoothly.
For a white car, use the white of the paper! Just color the bottom of the car and around the tires with light gray, and it will look 3D.
For a silver car, color it lightly with gray and leave a few white spots on the roof, hood, and curved parts of the doors. This makes it look shiny!

Windows and Lights

Noah has big windows, so how you color the glass changes the look a lot!
Color the window glass with light light-blue or gray, and leave diagonal white lines to make it look like real glass.
The back windows on real cars are often dark, so you can color them a little darker than the front windows.
For the visors above the windows, color them lightly with dark gray to give them a see-through look.
For the headlights, leave the inside white and color just the edges and inner parts with light gray.

Grille and Bumper

Color the gaps in the grille with dark gray or black to make the car's face stand out.
The 3rd generation grille has many side-to-side lines, so try coloring slowly between each line, one by one.
For the 4th generation top and bottom 2-tier grille, color the outer edges silver to make it look shiny and sharp!

Tires and Wheels

Color the tires with dark gray or black.
The wheel covers are usually silver.
If you color the holes and gaps in the covers with dark gray, the wheels will look 3D!

Fun Facts About Noah

A name with no link to the ark

When you hear "Noah," you might think of the story of "Noah's Ark" that carried lots of animals.
But Toyota says Noah comes from a friendly-sounding English name. It has no special meaning and has nothing to do with the ark.
Since it is a car that can carry many people, lots of folks think it is the perfect name!

A door that stops right where you want

The back door of the 4th generation Noah can stop at any angle you like after opening upward.
Even in places with a wall behind you where you cannot open it all the way, it is easy to put things in and out.
Toyota announced that this system is a world first!

Clever ideas to help children get in

In the 4th generation, some models have a step that pops out at your feet when the sliding door opens.
The step is only about 20 centimeters off the ground, making it easy for small children to climb in.
There is also a long handrail at the doorway that is easy for both kids and adults to hold onto.

Sold by another company too

Since 2022, the 4th generation Noah has also been supplied to Suzuki and sold under the name "Landy."
It is cool how the exact same car can be sold by a different company with a different name!
