The Osaka Loop Line is a super useful train that goes all the way around the middle of Osaka. It connects big stations and stations near lots of fun places. It carries many people every day and does a great job!

What Kinds of Trains Are There?

There are mainly two kinds of train routes.

• Loop Route: This train goes around and around inside the Osaka Loop Line. You can ride all the way around without changing trains!
• Direct Route: This train goes directly from the Osaka Loop Line onto other tracks (like the Yumesaki Line, Kansai Main Line, and Hanwa Line). For example, some trains go to stations near popular theme parks or travel to places far away. It is so easy because you can go to many different places without changing trains!

Where Does It Run?

The Osaka Loop Line goes through 19 stations in all. These include "Osaka Station" in the center of Osaka, "Kyobashi Station" with many big tall buildings, "Morinomiya Station" famous for its castle, and "Tennoji Station" in a lively town with a long history. Every station has lots of fun places around it!

When Did Its History Begin?

The history of the Osaka Loop Line began way back in the Meiji Period when people built a few train tracks. After that, new tracks were connected and its name changed. Then, in 1961, it got its current name, "Osaka Loop Line," and became a full circle!

There Are Many Kinds of Trains, Too!

Long ago, an orange train called the "103 Series" was famous. But today, many new and cool trains run on the line.

• 323 Series: This is the newest train on the Osaka Loop Line today. The body of the train is orange with blue stripes around the windows and near the doors. It looks so cool! The doors and entrances are wide, so it is made for everyone to get on and off easily.
• Other trains that connect to different track lines (like the Yamatoji Rapid and the Kansai Airport / Kishuji Rapid) also run on the Osaka Loop Line!

How to Choose Colors

The Osaka Loop Line trains look so cool when you color them in bright, cheerful colors that stand out against the scenery. Try coloring your train to look like the Series 323, the main train used today!

• Basic body color: Use a bright orange, or an orange that is a bit closer to vermilion. This color has been passed down from the trains that ran on the line long ago.
• Lines around windows and doors: If you color these with a dark blue or navy, it will contrast with the orange and make the design look nice and sharp.
• The roof and bottom of the train (underframe): Use a slightly dark gray or black to make it look strong and heavy.
• Window glass: Color them with light blue or pale blue to show the scenery outside reflecting on the glass.
