About Shinkansen N700A

The white Shinkansen that everyone knows! Shinkansen N700A!

Shinkansen N700A is packed with amazing Japanese technology. It is the cool white bullet train with blue stripes that you often see at the station or on TV. As the "Nozomi," "Hikari," and "Kodama," it carries lots of people and luggage all the way from Tokyo to Shin-Osaka and Hakata in Fukuoka.

What does the "A" mean?

The "A" in Shinkansen N700A comes from the word "Advanced," which means "moved forward." It got this name because it upgraded many parts of the original "N700 Series" bullet train to make it safer, more comfortable, and better at running. And guess what? An even further evolved version of Shinkansen N700A is the "N700S" bullet train!

What makes it so awesome?

Shinkansen N700A has many cool hidden secrets!

  • Great at turns!: When it goes around a curve, it can tilt its body just a little bit all by itself. This lets it run smoothly through turns without slowing down very much.
  • Awesome brakes!: The brakes are super good. If something happens, it can stop safely in a much shorter distance than before.
  • Always stays on time!: If the train ever gets delayed, it has a system that helps it run at top speed so it can arrive at the station right on time.

Where does it run?

Shinkansen N700A runs on the "Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines," which are known as Japan's main traffic route. The Tokaido Shinkansen goes from Tokyo through Nagoya to Shin-Osaka. The Sanyo Shinkansen goes even farther through Okayama and Hiroshima all the way to Hakata. They carry lots of people every day! Nozomi, Hikari, and Kodama run fast, with Nozomi stopping at the fewest stations. It looks so cool zooms past while you watch the Japanese scenery!

What does it look like?

Shinkansen N700A looks just like the N700 Series, but if you look closely, you can spot the difference! The easiest thing to find is the big "A" mark painted on its body. This "A" mark shows that it is an upgraded bullet train. Its body is a bright, pretty white with one thick blue stripe and one thin blue stripe under the windows.

How to Color Shinkansen N700A

Choosing Colors

Here are some tips on picking colors to make your Shinkansen N700A look super cool. You can color it just like the real train, or make it unique with your own colors!

  • Body color: Color the whole body white to make it look smooth and shiny. If you add a light gray color to the shady parts, it will look 3D!
  • Stripe color: Color the two lines below the windows with blue. Keep in mind that the top line is thick and the bottom line is thin. If you draw them straight and neat, your train will look speedy and awesome.
  • Front window and lights: If you color the driver's window with black or dark gray, it will look nice and sharp. For the headlights, you can make them white or yellow when the train is running, or red when it is stopped.
  • Wheels and bottom parts: Color the wheels and the bottom area with lots of machinery using black or dark gray. It will look powerful and realistic!

Show How Fast It Goes!

The Shinkansen is a super fast train, so let's show that speed in your picture.

  • Color in one direction: When you color, try making long sideways strokes in the direction the train is going. That will make it look like it is zooming by!
  • Blur the background: You can color the background scenery a little blurry or draw swooshing lines. It will feel like the train is flying past at amazing speeds.

How to Make It Look 3D: Think About "Light" and "Shadows"!

To show the Shinkansen N700A's round shape and 3D look, try to imagine where the light is coming from.

  • Bright spots: Leave places like the roof or the middle of the body white, or gently erase some color. That makes it look like sunshine is hitting it!
  • Shady spots: Use a slightly darker color for the bottom of the body, around the windows, and near the wheels. This creates shadows and makes it look 3D.

Have Fun Coloring the Background!

Try drawing the scenery where your Shinkansen N700A is running.

  • Tracks and power lines: Carefully color the train tracks and the overhead wires. Setting up this cool stage will make your train look amazing.
  • Scenery around it: Add tall buildings, rice fields, mountains, or tunnels to tell a fun story. A bright blue sky or a red sunset sky would look great, too.

Tips for Enjoying Your Coloring Page!

The best way to color is to ask yourself, "What kind of Shinkansen N700A would I love to see?" You can add rainbow stripes or star patterns. Let your very own special train zoom away!
